Contract Type: Long-term / Temporary, Full-time / Part-time
Start Date: September 2026

Are you passionate about helping secondary-aged students overcome challenges and reach their full potential? A welcoming secondary school in Sheffield is looking for a committed Behaviour Support professional to join their team from September 2026.

About the Role:

As a Behaviour Support professional, you will work closely with students across Key Stages 3 and 4, providing guidance and encouragement to help them engage positively with learning. You will support pupils who may experience behavioural, emotional or social challenges, working alongside teachers, pastoral teams and other staff to maintain a calm and purposeful learning environment throughout the school day.

About the School:

This inclusive secondary school is dedicated to providing a supportive environment where students are encouraged to develop both academically and personally. Staff work collaboratively to promote positive behaviour, mutual respect and high expectations, ensuring every student has the opportunity to succeed.

Responsibilities:

  • Support students with behaviour, emotional regulation and engagement across Key Stages 3 and 4.

  • Build positive relationships with individual students and small groups.

  • Work alongside subject teachers and pastoral staff to encourage positive learning behaviours.

  • Assist students during lessons, transitions and unstructured times where appropriate.

  • Promote a safe, calm and structured learning environment.

  • Record observations and provide feedback to teaching and pastoral teams.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people, ideally within a secondary school or similar setting.

  • A calm, patient and resilient approach to behaviour support.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • The ability to build positive and professional relationships with young people.

  • Confidence working as part of a wider school team.

  • An enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or willingness to apply for one through GSL Education.

If you are ready to make a positive difference and are interested in this opportunity, submit your CV today.

To work with GSL Education as a Behaviour Support (Secondary), you should:

  • Have the right to work in the UK.

  • Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last two years.

  • Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.

Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks including providing an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or completing an application for a new check.
