Key Stages: KS3–KS4 Location: Birmingham Contract: Full-Time Salary: In line with teacher pay scale Start: September School Type: Mixed Secondary School (Ofsted-rated Good) A Core Subject Role With Consistent Classroom Demand A secondary school in Birmingham is seeking to appoint a Maths Teacher from September to support the delivery of Mathematics across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. This is a reliable, full timetable role within a department that teaches Mathematics as a core subject across all year groups. Maths is a well-established department within the school, and teachers work within clear schemes of learning designed to support consistent lesson delivery. About the Position The successful candidate will take responsibility for teaching Mathematics across mixed-ability groups, ensuring students build confidence in core mathematical methods and problem-solving strategies. Lessons typically cover key areas such as: Number and calculation Algebra and equations Geometry and measurement Statistics and data handling Ratio and proportion Problem-solving techniques Students follow structured learning pathways, allowing teachers to focus on delivery and progress tracking rather than curriculum design from scratch. Your Role Within the Department You will become part of an established Maths department where collaboration is encouraged, particularly when preparing students for examinations. Expected duties include: Planning and delivering Maths lessons aligned with curriculum plans Supporting students in developing mathematical accuracy Assessing classwork, homework, and examination preparation tasks Identifying students who require additional support Maintaining clear classroom expectations Supporting revision sessions ahead of GCSE examinations The department places strong emphasis on consistency and predictable routines.
