Job description
A welcoming and well-organised secondary school in Salford is seeking an enthusiastic Early Career Teacher (ECT) of Maths to join its supportive Mathematics department. This is an excellent opportunity for a newly qualified teacher to begin their career in a school with clear routines, a well-sequenced curriculum and strong mentoring that helps ECTs grow quickly in confidence and impact. The school has consistent behaviour systems, a calm learning culture and leadership that prioritises high-quality teaching and staff development. About the Role As ECT Maths Teacher , you will teach across Key Stages 3 and 4 , delivering engaging lessons that build pupils’ confidence, fluency and reasoning. You will be supported to deliver a well-sequenced curriculum that develops: Secure foundations through clear explanation and modelling Fluency and accuracy through purposeful practice and retrieval Reasoning through structured questioning and guided problem-solving GCSE confidence through deliberate practice, feedback and consistent routines ECT Support and Development You will benefit from a strong ECT programme, including: A dedicated subject mentor and regular coaching Protected time for training, planning and reflection Opportunities to observe experienced colleagues Support with behaviour routines, assessment and adaptive teaching Shared resources and collaborative planning to reduce workload Key Information Location: Salford Start Date: September 2026 (or by agreement) Contract: Full-time, permanent Salary: MPS (ECT) What the School is Looking For ECT (or soon-to-qualify) with QTS (or working towards) Strong subject knowledge in Mathematics A calm, organised approach and high expectations Willingness to learn, reflect and develop through mentoring Strong relationships and a positive classroom culture How to Apply If you are an ECT Maths teacher looking for the right school to build confidence and develop excellent practice, we welcome your application.
