The Department You will join a collaborative team that prioritizes "Communication First" pedagogy, creating an immersive environment where students feel confident using Spanish as a living language. Core Responsibilities Curriculum Delivery: Teaching Spanish across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (AQA/Edexcel), with the opportunity to lead A-Level modules on Hispanic society, political history, and artistic culture. Grammar & Syntax: Helping students master the logic of the Spanish language, from basic verb conjugations to the sophisticated use of the subjunctive mood and complex tenses. Phonics & Oracy: Explicitly teaching Spanish phonics to ensure students develop high levels of pronunciation accuracy and the confidence to engage in spontaneous conversation. Cultural Integration: Designing lessons that explore the traditions, geography, and socio-economic contexts of the 21 Spanish-speaking countries. Differentiated Support: Utilizing scaffolding and high-frequency language modelling to ensure that all learners, including those with SEN, can experience the "quick wins" of language mastery. The Successful Candidate We are looking for a linguist who can bring the energy of the Spanish-speaking world to the heart of Norfolk. Requirements include: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in Spanish or a related field (Native or near-native fluency is essential). Pedagogical Flair: The ability to use "Extensive Processing Instruction" (EPI) or similar methodologies to make language learning accessible and engaging. Classroom Charisma: A teacher who can create a high-challenge, low-threat environment where students are encouraged to take risks and learn from mistakes.
