Job description
Start Date: ASAP Contract: Full-time, Permanent Salary: Paid to scale About the School We are a thriving 11–18 Outstanding secondary school in Reading , recognised for our high academic standards, strong pastoral support, and inclusive ethos. Role Overview We are seeking a School Administrator to play a key role in the smooth running of our school office. You will provide high-quality administrative and organisational support to staff, students, parents, and senior leaders, ensuring that daily operations run efficiently and professionally. Key Responsibilities Serve as the first point of contact for parents, visitors, and external agencies Manage telephone, email, and face-to-face enquiries professionally Maintain accurate student records on the school MIS (Arbor/SIMS) Support attendance processes and safeguarding documentation Coordinate meetings, room bookings, and SLT diaries Produce reports, letters, and communications on behalf of senior leaders Assist with admissions paperwork and transition documentation Support school events, open evenings, and parents’ evenings Maintain filing systems and ensure GDPR compliance Handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism Candidate Requirements Previous administration experience (school experience desirable but not essential) Excellent organisational and time-management skills Strong written and verbal communication skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital systems Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure High attention to detail and accuracy Professional, approachable, and personable manner Commitment to safeguarding and confidentiality Why Join Us Be part of a supportive, structured, and fast-paced administrative team Work in a school with excellent student outcomes and behaviour Receive training on all internal digital systems Contribute to a school culture that values reliability, positivity, and initiative How to Apply Please send your CV to us as soon as possible.
