Job description

A busy and well-organised good secondary school in Bristol is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented School Administrator to join its office team with an ASAP start . This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and wants to play a key role in supporting the daily operations of a successful school. The school is known for its strong organisational systems and supportive staff culture. The administration team is central to the smooth running of the school, ensuring that communication, records, and processes are managed efficiently. You will be joining a collaborative office environment where teamwork and professionalism are highly valued. The Role at a Glance This role will involve providing administrative support across a range of school functions. No two days are the same, and you will be involved in handling enquiries, maintaining records, and supporting staff, students, and parents throughout the school day. Working closely with senior administrators and leadership staff, you will contribute to maintaining accurate data systems and supporting the wider school community. The role requires a calm and organised individual who can manage competing priorities while maintaining high standards of accuracy. You will be expected to demonstrate flexibility and a willingness to support different areas of the school office when required. Typical Responsibilities On a daily basis, you will support the administration team with a variety of office-based tasks. This will include answering telephone calls, responding to email enquiries, and welcoming visitors to the school office while following safeguarding procedures. You will assist with maintaining pupil records, updating school databases, and preparing documents for meetings or communications. Handling incoming and outgoing post, managing general filing, and supporting attendance or admissions processes may also form part of your duties. At times, you may be asked to assist with organising school events, supporting staff requests, or preparing materials for classroom use. Your ability to remain organised and attentive to detail will be essential to ensuring that tasks are completed accurately and on time. About the School Environment This good secondary school in Bristol prides itself on maintaining an organised and welcoming environment where students and staff feel supported. The administration team plays an important role in maintaining the structure that allows teaching staff to focus on delivering high-quality lessons. The school leadership team encourages clear communication and values staff who demonstrate initiative and reliability. Support staff are recognised as an essential part of the school community, and new team members receive guidance and support to help them settle into their roles successfully. The school maintains high standards of safeguarding and professionalism across all areas of operation. Who This Role Would Suit This position would suit someone with previous experience in an administrative role, ideally within a school or busy office environment. However, candidates with strong organisational skills and transferable administrative experience will also be considered. You should be confident using computer systems, managing records, and communicating clearly with staff and parents. A professional manner, strong attention to detail, and the ability to prioritise tasks will be important qualities for success. Reliability, discretion, and a willingness to work as part of a team are also essential for this role. Submitting Your Application If you are interested in this School Administrator opportunity in Bristol and are available to begin work as soon as possible , please submit your CV for consideration. This full-time position offers the chance to join a supportive school environment where your organisational skills will make a meaningful difference to daily operations.
