Job description
Summary We are looking for an experienced Financial Controller to play a key role in the financial operations of The Oxford Health Company, an ambitious and growing nutraceutical business. Reporting to the Finance Director, you will oversee day-to-day finance functions, including management accounts, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, statutory accounts, audit support and cash flow management. You will play a key part in building a modern, scalable Finance function and will be crucial in ensuring our financial health as we continue our expansion. Who are we? Our headquarters and manufacturing facility are located in Bicester, with a second storage warehouse nearby. Since fitting out our state-of-the-art clean rooms and manufacturing facility in 2019, we have continued to invest in our infrastructure to better serve our customers and enhance operational efficiency. What will you do? As Financial Controller, you will be responsible for: Supporting the Finance Director in managing the company’s financial operations. Leading the financial accounting process, maintaining robust financial records at all times. Preparing monthly management accounts with robust and efficient close processes. Producing financial reports for internal stakeholders. Processing payroll, ensuring compliance with necessary regulations and company policies Overseeing tax compliance, quarterly VAT returns, and statutory reporting. Improving financial controls, processes, and efficiencies within the business. Managing relationships with auditors, banks, and external financial partners. Supporting Finance function development as it scales, particularly adapting systems and process flows alongside growth. Managing accounts payable and accounts receivable functions ensuring good supplier relationships are maintained and debt is controlled. What We’re Looking For Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) Experience in a Financial Controller, ideally within a SME business environment (manufacturing exposure preferred but not mandatory) Hands-on experience with payroll, tax compliance, and financial reporting. Ability to implement financial controls and improve operational efficiencies. Excellent communication skills and a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
