Children’s Community Palliative Care Support Worker
Starting salary £24,784.50 per annum with room to develop and progress through the pay grade banding up to £26,133 per annum.
We’re looking for a passionate Children’s Palliative Care Support Worker to join our dedicated community team and provide high quality individual support to a child and their family both at their home and in the hospice. You will provide comfort and care to support our younger patients and make a difference when it matters the most.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide patient centred personal and clinical care and support of children and young people with complex needs in accordance with the care plan in a range of settings
- Deliver a high standard of specialist palliative care in partnership with other professionals
- Provide an empathetic and supportive presence for families and refer to appropriate services as needed
- To act as an advocate for children and their families
- Engage the patient with a range of activities that meets their needs
What we’re looking for:
- Previous work or personal experience in caring for children with complex health needs
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong understanding of safeguarding children
- Ability to work unsupervised with shifting priorities and organise own workload
- NVQ Trained to level 2
- Full UK driving licence
