Job description
A welcoming and well-organised secondary school in Oldbury is seeking an enthusiastic Early Career Teacher (ECT) of Geography to join its supportive Humanities department. This is an excellent opportunity for a newly qualified teacher to begin their career in a school with clear routines, a well-sequenced curriculum and strong mentoring that helps ECTs grow quickly in confidence and impact. The school has consistent behaviour systems, a calm learning culture and leadership that prioritises high-quality teaching and staff development. About the Role As ECT Geography Teacher , you will teach across Key Stages 3 and 4 , delivering engaging lessons that build pupils’ geographical knowledge and enquiry skills. You will be supported to deliver a well-sequenced curriculum that develops: Secure knowledge of physical and human geography Strong map skills, graph work and data interpretation Confident use of case studies to build relevance and depth Structured writing and evaluation through modelling and feedback GCSE confidence through deliberate practice and clear routines ECT Support and Development You will benefit from a strong ECT programme, including: A dedicated subject mentor and regular coaching Protected time for training, planning and reflection Opportunities to observe experienced colleagues Support with behaviour routines, assessment and adaptive teaching Shared resources and collaborative planning to reduce workload Key Information Location: Oldbury Start Date: September 2026 (or by agreement) Contract: Full-time, permanent Salary: MPS (ECT) What the School is Looking For ECT (or soon-to-qualify) with QTS (or working towards) Strong subject knowledge in Geography A calm, organised approach and high expectations Willingness to learn, reflect and develop through mentoring Strong relationships and a positive classroom culture How to Apply If you are an ECT Geography teacher looking for the right school to build confidence and develop excellent practice, we welcome your application.
