Job description

At Dexory, we are building advanced, software-led robotics solutions that are redefining global logistics. Our multidisciplinary teams—spanning hardware, manufacturing, software, AI, and commercial—operate with pace, precision, and shared purpose. We are united by a collective ambition to deliver meaningful impact at scale.

We value ideas over hierarchy and execution over intent. We are builders, operators, and innovators committed to shaping the future of our industry.

This is a rare opportunity to join a company at a pivotal stage of growth and transformation.

We are seeking a commercially astute, strategically minded VP of People with a proven track record of scaling People functions in high-growth, complex environments. With over a decade of progressive People leadership experience, you will operate as a true enterprise-level People leader—equally comfortable setting global strategy and driving operational excellence.

You will bring deep experience in building and evolving People functions from first principles, navigating ambiguity, and enabling international expansion across multiple jurisdictions. As a key member of the leadership team, you will play a critical role in shaping organisational capability, culture, and long-term business performance.

This role requires a minimum of three days per week onsite at our Wallingford location.

We are committed to building a diverse and inclusive organisation. We encourage applications from individuals who may not meet every listed requirement but bring the mindset, potential, and values aligned to our mission.

Key Responsibilities

Enterprise People Strategy & Executive Partnership

  • Define and execute a global People strategy aligned with Dexory’s growth trajectory and business objectives.
  • Partner with the executive team to shape organisational design, workforce planning, and long-term talent strategy.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor on organisational effectiveness, leadership capability, culture, and performance.
  • Build scalable People infrastructure to enable sustainable, international growth.

Operational Excellence & Governance

  • Lead end-to-end global HR operations, ensuring best-in-class delivery across the employee lifecycle.
  • Establish robust governance frameworks, policies, and systems to support scale and compliance.
  • Ensure adherence to UK and international employment legislation and regulatory standards.
  • Optimise HR technology, data analytics, and reporting to inform strategic decision-making.

Talent, Performance & Leadership Development

  • Architect and embed high-impact performance management frameworks that drive accountability and results.
  • Lead succession planning and leadership development to strengthen organisational capability.
  • Oversee employee lifecycle excellence, with a focus on onboarding, engagement, and retention.
  • Partner with Talent leadership on strategic workforce planning and global hiring initiatives.

Culture, Engagement & Employee Experience

  • Champion a high-performance, values-led, and inclusive culture.
  • Lead engagement strategy and organisational health diagnostics.
  • Manage complex employee relations matters with sound judgement and commercial pragmatism.
  • Drive global diversity, equity, and inclusion priorities.

International Growth & Transformation

  • Enable global workforce expansion, including entity setup, EOR models, and cross-border employment frameworks.
  • Operate effectively within matrixed, geographically distributed organisations.
  • Lead organisational change and transformation initiatives in dynamic environments.
  • Identify and mitigate HR risks across multiple jurisdictions.

People Leadership

  • Build, lead, and scale a high-performing People function.
  • Develop capability across both specialist and generalist HR disciplines.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and excellence within the team.

Experience & Capabilities

  • 10+ years of progressive HR experience, including significant senior leadership exposure.
  • Demonstrated success in high-growth start-up and scale-up environments.
  • Proven ability to build and scale HR infrastructure in complex, fast-moving organisations.
  • Strong expertise in UK employment law, with international experience preferred.
  • Track record of leading organisational change and supporting rapid growth.
  • Highly commercial, with strong business acumen and executive presence.
  • Experience partnering closely with founders and executive teams.

Desirable

  • Experience within technology, robotics, logistics, SaaS, or similarly scaling sectors.
  • Exposure to funding rounds, M&A activity, or organisational restructuring.
  • CIPD qualification or equivalent.
  • Experience implementing and optimising HRIS platforms.

Personal Attributes

  • Strategic thinker with strong operational execution capability.
  • Deep commitment to building high-performing teams and systems.
  • Resilient, adaptable, and effective in ambiguity.
  • High emotional intelligence and exceptional stakeholder management.
  • Data-driven with strong analytical capability.
  • Pragmatic, outcome-oriented, and execution-focused.

Benefits

Starting from the interview process and continuing into your career with us, you will be working by our four Operating Principles:

  • Performance: High standards, outstanding results,
  • Impact: Big challenges, bigger results
  • Commitment: All in, every time
  • One team: One mission, shared success

Joining our team and company isn't just about expertise; it's about embracing uncertainty with ambition. We're crafting world-changing solutions, fueled by a passion to redefine what's possible. We will look for you to help create and shape the future of logistics solutions through our products, our culture and our shared vision.

You will also receive:

  • Employee Assistance Programme - mental wellbeing, financial and legal advice/support
