Behaviour Mentor – dynamic and supportive secondary school – Liverpool Start Date: As soon as possible Contract: Full-time, Permanent Salary: Paid to scale School information: This is an 11–18 well-established, Outstanding Ofsted-rated secondary school in Liverpool , recognised for its strong pastoral systems, inclusive ethos, and commitment to student wellbeing. The school serves a diverse community and has a clear focus on ensuring every student is supported both academically and emotionally. Students are engaged and respectful, and the school has developed a calm, structured environment where high expectations are consistently upheld. The pastoral team is a key strength of the school, working collaboratively to ensure that behaviour is managed effectively and that students receive the support they need to succeed. There is a strong emphasis on early intervention, restorative practice, and building positive relationships. Role overview: As a Behaviour Mentor, you will play a vital role in supporting students who require additional behavioural and emotional support. You will work closely with pastoral leaders, teachers, and families to help students overcome barriers to learning and improve their engagement in school. Key responsibilities: Support students with behavioural needs both in and out of the classroom Build positive relationships to encourage engagement and personal development Implement behaviour support strategies and interventions Work closely with Heads of Year and safeguarding teams Monitor student progress and behaviour, providing regular feedback Support reintegration of students into lessons following behavioural incidents Liaise with parents and external agencies where required What the school is looking for: Experience working with young people, ideally in a school or similar setting Strong behaviour management and interpersonal skills Resilient, calm, and patient approach Ability to build trust and rapport with students Understanding of safeguarding and inclusion practices Commitment to supporting student wellbeing and progress Why join this school: Outstanding pastoral systems and leadership Supportive and collaborative staff team Clear behaviour policies and structured environment Opportunities for professional development Positive and inclusive school culture Application To apply, please send your CV as soon as possible.
