Job description
A well-regarded secondary school in Lambeth is seeking a proactive and organised Receptionist to join its administrative team as soon as possible. This is an excellent opportunity to be the first point of contact for a vibrant school community, playing a key role in supporting daily operations, safeguarding, and whole-school communication. The school places strong emphasis on professional standards, a warm welcome, and efficient systems, with the reception desk being central to the school’s positive reputation. Key Responsibilities Acting as the first point of contact for all visitors, parents, and students Managing a busy switchboard, directing calls, and taking accurate messages Maintaining the school’s Bromcom MIS system for student data and registration Handling incoming and outgoing post and deliveries Supporting school safeguarding by managing visitor sign-in and ID checks Assisting with general administrative tasks such as filing, scanning, and data entry Managing the reception area to ensure it remains professional and welcoming The Ideal Candidate Will Have Previous experience as a receptionist or administrator within a school setting Essential experience using Bromcom or a similar school MIS system Excellent verbal and written communication skills A professional, calm, and welcoming manner under pressure The ability to manage sensitive situations with discretion and empathy Strong ICT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office A proactive, reliable, and highly organised approach School Information This secondary school in Lambeth is known for its supportive leadership, structured systems, and commitment to both staff and pupil progress.
