Job description

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our client’s dynamic and inclusive secondary school in Bolton as a SEN Teaching Assistant commencing September 2026.

This position offers an excellent opportunity for those wishing to gain practical experience within an educational setting, particularly if you aspire to progress into teaching, pastoral care, or educational psychology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist teachers in delivering high-quality lessons across a range of subjects.
  • Provide targeted support to individual pupils or small groups, particularly those requiring additional assistance.
  • Contribute to the preparation of classroom resources and displays.
  • Monitor student progress and behaviour, ensuring a safe and supportive learning environment.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Engage in ongoing training, mentoring, and professional development throughout the academic year.

We are seeking an individual who is:

Situated near the centre of Bolton, our client school serves a diverse and vibrant community. You will join a dedicated team that values collaboration, inclusion, and the belief that every child deserves the opportunity to succeed. The school has an on site provision for students with SEN and is committed to providing a nurturing and inclusive environment. The school is easily accessible via car and public transport from surronding areas such as Salford, Bury and Wigan.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
