Job description
A welcoming and well-regarded primary school in Bolton is seeking a warm, organised and professional School Receptionist to join its supportive office team. This is a key front-of-house role at the heart of a busy school community—ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in providing a calm, efficient service. The school has clear routines, strong safeguarding practice and a friendly, community-focused culture where families feel supported and communication matters. About the Role As School Receptionist , you will be the first point of contact for parents, visitors, pupils and professionals, helping the school office run smoothly each day. Responsibilities typically include: Greeting visitors and managing sign-in procedures in line with safeguarding Handling calls and emails professionally and efficiently Supporting daily admin tasks such as letters, photocopying, filing and record keeping Updating school systems and maintaining accurate information (training provided) Supporting communication with parents and external agencies Maintaining confidentiality and a calm, professional approach at all times Key Information Location: Bolton Start Date: ASAP / next term (or by agreement) Contract: Full-time, permanent (or as agreed) Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience What the School is Looking For Experience in reception, administration or a busy customer-facing role Friendly, professional communication and strong organisation Confidence using IT (email, documents, spreadsheets and databases) Understanding of confidentiality and safeguarding in schools Ability to remain calm, efficient and approachable in a busy environment How to Apply If you are a capable and welcoming receptionist who would thrive in a friendly Bolton primary school office team, we welcome your application.
