Job description
A welcoming and well-organised secondary school in Lincoln is seeking an enthusiastic Early Career Teacher (ECT) of Science (Biology) to join its supportive Science department. This is an excellent opportunity for a newly qualified teacher to begin their career in a school with clear routines, a well-sequenced curriculum and strong mentoring that helps ECTs grow quickly in confidence and impact. The school has consistent behaviour systems, a calm learning culture and leadership that prioritises high-quality teaching and staff development. About the Role As ECT Science Teacher (Biology) , you will teach Science across Key Stages 3 and 4 , with a strong focus on Biology. You will be supported to deliver a well-sequenced curriculum that develops: Secure understanding of key Biology concepts and scientific thinking Confidence with practical work and safe laboratory routines Data handling, application of knowledge and evaluation skills Strong scientific vocabulary and written responses where required GCSE confidence through modelling, deliberate practice and clear routines ECT Support and Development You will benefit from a strong ECT programme, including: A dedicated subject mentor and regular coaching Protected time for training, planning and reflection Opportunities to observe experienced colleagues Support with behaviour routines, assessment and adaptive teaching Shared resources and collaborative planning to reduce workload Key Information Location: Lincoln Start Date: September 2026 (or by agreement) Contract: Full-time, permanent Salary: MPS (ECT) What the School is Looking For ECT (or soon-to-qualify) with QTS (or working towards) Strong subject knowledge in Biology (and confidence teaching general Science) A calm, organised approach and high expectations Willingness to learn, reflect and develop through mentoring Strong relationships and a positive classroom culture How to Apply If you are an ECT Science teacher looking for the right school to build confidence and develop excellent practice, we welcome your application.
