Job description
A well-regarded secondary school in Luton is seeking to appoint an organised and proactive Attendance Lead to join its dedicated pastoral and administrative team. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a supportive school environment committed to improving outcomes, safeguarding students, and promoting high levels of attendance and engagement. Job Overview This successful school has a strong reputation for providing a structured and inclusive learning environment where students are encouraged to thrive academically and personally. The successful candidate will play a key role in leading attendance processes across the school, helping to remove barriers to learning and ensuring students attend regularly and punctually. Working closely with senior leaders, pastoral teams, safeguarding staff and external agencies, you will monitor attendance data, identify patterns of concern, implement interventions and build positive relationships with families to improve attendance outcomes. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage whole-school attendance processes and procedures Monitor daily attendance, punctuality and persistent absence data Analyse trends and produce reports for senior leaders and governors Follow up absences promptly with parents and carers Implement targeted attendance interventions and support plans Work closely with safeguarding, pastoral and SEND teams to remove barriers to attendance Liaise with external agencies, local authority services and Education Welfare where required Ensure attendance records are accurate and compliant with statutory guidance Promote a positive culture of attendance across the school community The School This school in Luton is recognised for its inclusive ethos, strong pastoral support and commitment to student wellbeing.
