Job description
Location: MTL Advanced. Rotherham
Hours: Friday - Sunday 6am-6pm - plus one 8 hour shift midweek
Salary: £18.65-£22.44
About the Role
- Operate hoist / crane to load sheet steel onto laser bed
- Setting the machine up for cutting
- Unloading parts and unused sheet steel and storing
- Ensure Laser Machines are supplied with the correct materials
- Ensure material is checked for size, thickness and grade prior to cutting
- Cut and shape the correct materials according to engineer drawings
- Inspect finished components; Marking up of cut parts, cleaning and fettling products
- Ensure parts and sheets are handled and labelled correctly
- Ensure the parts are routed correctly to the next department / team
About You
- Knowledge working within a machining operative / machine minding capacity or general laser production
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations
- Slinging and lifting crane experience
- A flexible approach to be able to adapt to changing and challenging requirements
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels
- Ability to remain focused on Quality and consistently reiterate its importance to others
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to generate innovative concepts and ideasStrong & Competent Welder/Fabricator MIG and TIG
