Trainee Fire Safety Assessor

Location: Peterborough, Hybrid with travel to other sites (approximately 2 days a week) and opccasional travel to other regions as required.

Salary: £23,373 per annum

Permanent, 35 hours per week, Monday – Friday 9am to 5pm

Trainee Fire Safety Assessor – Start Your Career in Safety

Are you passionate about keeping people safe and looking to build a meaningful career in fire safety? This is an exciting opportunity to learn, grow, and gain a professional qualification while making a real difference to the safety of our customers.

As a Fire Safety Trainee, you’ll work alongside an experienced and supportive team, developing practical skills while studying towards your NEBOSH Fire Safety qualification. You’ll be exposed to a wide range of fire safety activities across the organisation, giving you hands‑on experience in a structured learning environment where your development truly matters.

Salary

The spot salary for this post is £23,373 per annum for applicants who fully meet the requirements of the post. If you’re still developing some of the skills or experience, you can start at a salary 5% or 10% below the spot rate, with clear support and progression opportunities to reach the full amount.

You'll also receive a £1,250 per annum essential car user allowance.

About you

  • Commitment to completing a professional fire safety qualification

The desirables

  • Previous fire safety or compliance experience
  • Experience working in social housing
  • Awareness of fire safety legislation and regulations

The successful applicant will be subject to pre‑employment checks, such as DBS and social media screening, before an offer is confirmed.

Stage 2: A Place to Show Your Strengths
A role related assessment and behavioural and scenario-based interview focused on how you apply your knowledge to real-life situations. You'll be asked to complete a Customer Service Questionnaire in advance.
Planned date: 18th May at our Peterborough office.
