Job description
The Opportunity Cheltenham is a town synonymous with enterprise and international festivals, providing a prestigious setting for a Business Studies specialist. We are seeking an educator who can translate market dynamics and corporate strategy into engaging classroom lessons. This role involves teaching at Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5, guiding high-achieving students through the complexities of entrepreneurship, financial management, and global trade within a high-performance academic environment. The Department You will join a high-attaining faculty that values academic rigor and real-world application, often integrating current business news into daily teaching. The department is exceptionally well-resourced with the latest industry case studies, digital modeling tools, and subscriptions to premier business publications. Collaborative planning is central to our success, allowing teachers to share sophisticated data sets and high-level revision materials. We maintain strong connections with the local business community and the "Cyber Central" hub to provide students with unique insight into the modern corporate landscape. Core Responsibilities Planning and delivering high-level Business Studies lessons that challenge students to analyze organizational behavior and economic impacts. Teaching fundamental concepts including marketing mixes, financial accounts, and human resource management with academic precision. Preparing students for GCSE and A-Level examinations, with a particular focus on mastering high-mark evaluative essay questions. Mentoring students in enterprise competitions and extracurricular business challenges to foster a spirit of innovation. Using performance data to track student progress and providing the targeted stretch and challenge required in a grammar school setting. The Successful Candidate We are looking for a specialist who can inspire the next generation of industry leaders. Requirements include: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in Business, Economics, or a closely related management field. A proven track record of supporting students to achieve top grades at Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5. The ability to bring abstract business theories to life using contemporary examples from the FTSE 100 and global startups. Strong interpersonal skills and the professional presence required to work within a selective school environment. Why Join Us?
