Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Business Consultant specializing in sanctions, PEP (Politically Exposed Person), and adverse media screening. As a key member of our advisory team, you will support financial institutions in leveraging SymphonyAI solutions to optimize their screening processes. This role involves designing and implementing advanced screening systems, driving AI-powered enhancements, and ensuring that detection processes align with regulatory compliance and business efficiency goals.


Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Client Advisory:

  • Work directly with clients to understand their sanctions, PEP, and adverse media screening requirements and translate them into effective, technology-driven solutions.

Screening Expertise:

  • Advise on best practices for customer and transaction screening against global watchlists (e.g., WorldCheck/Refinitiv, Dow Jones), including onboarding, periodic reviews, and ongoing monitoring.

AI Integration:

  • Champion the use of predictive and generative AI technologies to improve screening accuracy, reduce false positives, and enhance operational productivity.

Solution Design:

  • Configure and optimize SymphonyAI sanctions screening solutions to align with client regulatory obligations and operational objectives.

Detection Tuning:

  • Lead tuning detection parameters and thresholds to balance regulatory compliance, business efficiency, and effectiveness, including validation and calibration based on client needs.

Product Enablement:

  • Support clients in maximizing product features and guide on leveraging AI-driven screening. Provide feedback to product teams for enhancements based on client feedback.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Liaise with client teams (compliance, IT, operations) and internally with product, engineering, and data science teams.

Regulatory Alignment:

  • Stay abreast of evolving sanctions regulations and screening best practices to advise clients proactively.

Training & Enablement:

  • Deliver training, documentation, and ongoing support for client teams using screening products and associated tools.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Extensive expertise in sanctions, PEP, and adverse media screening, with deep familiarity with end-to-end screening processes and regulatory expectations.
  • Strong working knowledge of databases, with strong reading/writing SQL skills.
  • Proven hands-on experience with customer and transaction screening platforms, with a solid understanding of watchlist structures, matching logic, and detection methodologies.
  • Strong working knowledge of industry-standard data sources such as WorldCheck (Refinitiv), Dow Jones, and other regulatory/third party lists.
  • Practical experience advising on or executing tuning, calibration, and optimization of sanctions screening systems, with measurable improvements.
  • Deep understanding of global sanctions frameworks, enforcement trends, and compliance obligations, and the ability to translate regulatory changes into system/process updates.
  • Excellent communication and client-facing skills for conveying complex sanctions-related concepts to compliance, operations, and technology stakeholders.
  • Self-driven, analytical, with strong problem-solving skills, and committed to compliance excellence.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience working with AI-enabled screening technologies or analytical models, with the ability to articulate their value in enhancing detection outcomes.
  • Business analysis experience (requirements gathering, process mapping, supporting implementations).
  • Experience facilitating workshops, documenting user stories/solution designs, or coordinating between business and tech teams.
  • Background in consulting, RegTech, or financial crime transformation programs.
