Freelance Site Manager (No.2 on Site)Location: Catterick\n Rate: £275 – £300 per day\n Start Date: May 2026\n Project OverviewA large-scale infrastructure programme focused on the upgrade and modernisation of accommodation across a national estate, alongside the delivery of new-build supporting facilities.\n \nThe scheme is being rolled out across multiple sites using a programmatic approach, with a strong emphasis on Modern Methods of Construction (MMC), standardised design, and efficient delivery to drive quality, speed, and consistency.\n Role OverviewAs a Freelance Site Manager (No.2 on Site), you will support the Senior Site Manager / Project Lead in the day-to-day running of the Catterick site.\n \nYou will play a key role in coordinating site operations, managing subcontractors, and ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme, and to a high standard. This is a hands-on role suited to someone looking to step up or further develop under strong leadership on a major scheme.\n Key Responsibilities\n

Support the Senior Site Manager in overseeing daily site operations
\n
Supervise subcontractors and trades across accommodation builds and associated facilities
\n
Ensure strict adherence to health & safety standards and site procedures
\n
Assist in managing programme delivery, tracking progress, and reporting updates
\n
Monitor quality on site, ensuring works meet specifications and standards
\n
Coordinate materials, logistics, and workforce allocation
\n
Carry out site inspections, toolbox talks, and daily briefings
\n
Proactively identify and resolve on-site issues
\n
Liaise with project teams, consultants, and stakeholders as required
\n
Requirements\n
\n
Experience in a Site Manager or Assistant Site Manager role on construction or infrastructure projects
\n
Background delivering residential, accommodation, or similar schemes
\n
Exposure to MMC / modular construction (desirable)
\n
SC Clearance (advantageous)
\n
Valid SMSTS or SSSTS, CSCS (Black/Gold Card), and First Aid
\n
Strong organisational and communication skills
\n
Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, multi-phase environment
\n
