Job description
Start Date: January 2026 Location: Essex About the Role: We are seeking a passionate and energetic Early Career Teacher (ECT) of Physical Education to join a lively and supportive secondary school in Essex. The successful candidate will teach PE across KS3–KS4, with opportunities to contribute to extracurricular sports teams, clubs, and competitions. This is an excellent opportunity for a PE ECT to launch their career with strong mentoring and professional development. Key Responsibilities: • Teach high-quality PE lessons across KS3–KS4. • Encourage students to develop a passion for fitness, health, and sport. • Organise and support extracurricular clubs, fixtures, and competitions. • Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback. • Collaborate with colleagues to develop PE curriculum and enrichment activities. • Engage with the ECT induction programme to build confidence and expertise. About the School: This co-educational 11–18 secondary school in Essex has an Ofsted ‘Good’ rating and is recognised for its vibrant extracurricular provision. The school has modern sports facilities, including a gym, sports hall, and playing fields. It is known for its supportive leadership and commitment to nurturing new teachers.
