Job description
A successful secondary school in Sheffield is seeking a dedicated Attendance and Safeguarding Officer to join its pastoral and administrative team from January 2026. This role is central to student wellbeing, safeguarding and engagement, working closely with pastoral leaders, families and external agencies. The Role You will take responsibility for monitoring attendance, supporting safeguarding processes and helping to remove barriers to learning. Responsibilities include: Monitoring daily attendance and identifying patterns of concern Working with families to improve attendance and punctuality Supporting safeguarding referrals and record keeping Liaising with pastoral staff, SEN teams and external services Producing attendance and safeguarding reports for leadership The School The school has strong pastoral systems and a clear commitment to student wellbeing. Attendance and safeguarding are treated as shared responsibilities across the school community. Who This Role Suits Experience in attendance, safeguarding or pastoral administration Strong interpersonal skills and professional judgement Confidence working with families and external professionals Excellent record-keeping and confidentiality This is a meaningful role for someone committed to supporting young people.
