Job description
An Ofsted Outstanding secondary school in Milton Keynes is seeking a Design & Technology Technician to support its forward-thinking DT department from January . This is an exciting opportunity for a technically minded, creative individual with a passion for hands-on work and design innovation. You will be responsible for preparing and maintaining workshop equipment, supporting classroom projects, and ensuring that all materials and machinery are safely managed. The successful candidate will work closely with DT teachers, helping students complete practical work with precision and confidence. School Information: This Outstanding school has a culture of academic excellence and innovation. The DT department is modern and dynamic, featuring fully equipped workshops, CAD suites, and 3D printing facilities. Teachers and technicians collaborate closely to create engaging and practical lessons that develop students’ creative and technical skills. The school provides ongoing professional development for support staff and places high value on teamwork and wellbeing. This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys problem-solving, craftsmanship, and helping young people thrive in a practical learning environment. Experience and Qualifications: Background in DT, Engineering, or similar field Strong technical knowledge and understanding of health & safety Excellent communication and teamwork skills Salary: £23,000–£28,000 per annum, dependent on experience.
