Job description

Reports To: Operations Manager Location: Warwick House, Overton Road, London, SW9 7JP Hours: Full Time (37.5 hours per week, 5 days office-based) Salary: £33,000 – £37,000 (depending on experience) Start Date: March / April 2026 Who Are We? FBB is one of the UK’s leading educational charities and youth brands. Established in 2014, we now work with over 4,000 young people across multiple regions, supported by strong partnerships including Nike, EA Sports and Gillette. Young people are at the heart of everything we do. We believe that relationships transform lives, and we are on a mission to ensure that every young person has a trusted adult by their side throughout secondary school. We are a fast-paced, relational and ambitious organisation. Our culture is built on connection, autonomy and mastery. We want our offices to feel like spaces where people can do meaningful work, build strong relationships, and grow. If you’re someone who takes pride in creating environments where others can thrive - this could be the role for you. Do You Want To… Be the person who ensures our London office runs smoothly, safely and brilliantly every single day? Play a key role behind the scenes in enabling practitioners to focus on transforming work with young people? Help create a workplace that feels welcoming, organised and values-led — where people can do their best work? If yes, then this role might be exactly what you’re looking for. Before You Read the Job Description… You don’t need to meet every single requirement to apply. If this role excites you and you believe you can bring care, clarity and strong organisational skills to our team, we want to hear from you. Some of the best operational leaders grow into their roles. If you’re reflective, proactive and committed to learning, apply anyway. Are You Ready to Create the Conditions for Impact? At FBB, operational excellence isn’t about paperwork - it’s about people. When our systems work well, our practitioners can focus on relationships. When our office feels safe and welcoming, our teams feel connected. When our processes are simple and clear, people feel confident and supported and can spend more time building excellent relationships. As our London Office & Operations Manager, you will play a vital role in creating those conditions. You will lead the day-to-day running of our London office, ensuring it is organised, compliant, welcoming and efficient. You will act as a trusted point of contact for colleagues, supporting them with clarity and care. This is a role for someone who takes pride in the details, who values relationships, and who understands that strong operations create space for meaningful work. What You’ll Do Lead the Day-to-Day Running of the London Office You’ll ensure the office is safe, organised, compliant and aligned with FBB values. From facilities and health & safety to room bookings and maintenance, you’ll create a space where people feel supported and able to focus. Create the Conditions for Great Work You’ll act as a go-to person for staff, helping colleagues navigate processes, book travel and accommodation, coordinate logistics and solve day-to-day operational challenges calmly and efficiently. Care for our resources responsibly You’ll manage kit, equipment, IT assets and storage units with care and precision. You’ll maintain accurate asset registers, ensure accountability, and improve systems for tracking and storage. Strengthen Systems and Processes You’ll develop and improve internal systems so they are clear, accessible and supportive. You’ll help staff feel confident using operational tools and ensure compliance with organisational policies. Support Onboarding and Organisational Care You’ll play a key role in welcoming new staff, supporting induction processes and helping people feel connected from day one. Build Strong External Relationships You’ll liaise with premises maintenance providers, suppliers and local community contacts around Brixton, ensuring strong working relationships and smooth service delivery. Organisational Context This role sits within the Operations team and reports to the Operations Manager. You will work closely with: - The People & Culture team - Practitioner teams - Regional leadership - The Practitioner Training team Your role is central to ensuring that our London-based colleagues feel supported, connected and well-resourced, helping shape the daily experience of our staff. Who We’re Looking For You are organised, thoughtful and calm under pressure. You take pride in doing things well and finishing what you start. You understand that strong systems support strong relationships. You communicate clearly and respectfully. You are proactive and take ownership, while knowing when to collaborate. You value autonomy but don’t operate in isolation. You’re reflective, open to feedback and motivated to keep improving. Most importantly, you care about creating environments where others can thrive. What You’ll Bring • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail • Confidence managing multiple operational tasks and priorities • Clear and respectful communication skills • Experience improving systems or processes • Good record-keeping and data management practices • The ability to work independently while staying connected to the wider team • A calm, steady presence when responding to competing demands Desirable (But Not Essential) • Experience with IT systems, GDPR or HR processes • Experience in the charity or education sector • Understanding of the communities FBB works with • Training in operations, facilities or administrative management Why Join FBB? Be Part of Something Bigger You’ll contribute directly to creating a workplace where staff can transform the lives of young people. Autonomy and Mastery We trust our team members to own their work. You’ll have space to improve systems, develop your expertise and shape how operations work in London. A Relational Culture You’ll be part of a team that values connection, reflection and shared growth. Investment in You We provide a wellbeing budget, learning and development opportunities, reflective practice spaces and real support for your growth. Benefits and Perks • 35 days annual leave (20 flexible + 15 charity-wide closure days) • £360 annual wellbeing allowance • Workplace pension (NEST) • Study support and apprenticeship routes available • Opportunities to join young people on trips and at Football matches • Access to FBB branded kit Application Process Application Deadline: Sunday 1 March 2026 Screening Calls: Week commencing 2 March Interviews: Week commencing 9 March Start Date: March / April 2026 Submit your CV and a cover letter explaining why this role excites you and what you would bring. All appointments are subject to: • Enhanced DBS check • Self-declaration for working with children • Two professional references • Mandatory safeguarding training By joining FBB, you are committing to upholding the highest standards of safeguarding so every young person we work with feels safe, supported and empowered. FBB is committed to diversity and inclusion. We encourage applications from all backgrounds, including those underrepresented in the charity sector.
