Job description
An ambitious and forward-thinking secondary school in Coventry is seeking a skilled and motivated Design & Technology Teacher to join their thriving Technology department. This is a full-time role starting ASAP and is open to both experienced practitioners and ECTs eager to develop within a well-supported environment. About the School The school has built a strong reputation for academic achievement, positive behaviour, and excellent pastoral care. The Design & Technology department is a key strength within the curriculum, offering modern workshops, CAD facilities, and a strong emphasis on practical learning. Students respond positively to hands-on experiences and consistently produce high-quality coursework outcomes. Senior leadership are highly supportive, and staff benefit from structured CPD, collaborative planning time, and clear progression pathways. Behaviour systems are embedded and consistent, allowing teachers to focus on delivering engaging and challenging lessons. The Role You will teach Design & Technology across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential for Key Stage 5 depending on experience. Specialisms in Product Design, Resistant Materials, Engineering, or Graphics are all welcomed. Key responsibilities include: • Delivering engaging, practical, and theory-based DT lessons • Preparing students for GCSE coursework and examinations • Maintaining workshop safety and high health & safety standards • Contributing to curriculum development and enrichment activities • Supporting extracurricular clubs or STEM initiatives Candidate Requirements • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) • Strong subject knowledge within Design & Technology • Excellent classroom management skills • Commitment to safeguarding and high expectations • Ability to inspire creativity, innovation, and problem-solving Why Apply?
