Job description
Join a progressive Girls’ School in Westminster as a Design and Technology Teacher from April 2025. This is a mid-year opportunity to inspire creativity, problem-solving, and practical skills among students across Key Stages 3-5. About Our Learning Community: We are a Girls’ School committed to providing a creative and engaging education that empowers young women to excel in design and technology. Our DT department emphasizes project-based learning and real-world applications. About the Role: Deliver engaging and challenging Design and Technology lessons across Key Stages 3-5, following exam specifications and incorporating creative design processes and practical skills. Plan and deliver lessons that foster innovation, problem-solving, and practical skills, utilizing a variety of teaching methods and resources, including CAD/CAM software and workshop tools. Assess student progress through design projects, practical tasks, and written assessments, providing detailed feedback to support their development and ensure smooth transition mid-year. Contribute to the development of the DT curriculum, integrating current technological trends and industry practices, and participate in departmental planning. Organize and lead design and technology projects, workshops, and visits to local industries, promoting hands-on learning and practical application of skills, adapting to mid-year integration. Ideal Candidate: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a strong Design and Technology subject knowledge, including practical skills and CAD/CAM. Demonstrated experience teaching Design and Technology across Key Stages 3-5, with a focus on both theoretical concepts and practical applications. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and practical skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate students, including those joining mid-year.
