Job description
Start Date: January 2026 Location: Essex About the Role: We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Social Sciences Teacher to join a dynamic secondary school in Essex with an Ofsted ‘Good’ rating. The successful candidate will teach a combination of Psychology, Sociology, and Health & Social Care across KS4–KS5, inspiring students to think critically about the world around them. This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive department where Social Sciences are highly valued and well established. Key Responsibilities: • Teach engaging Social Science lessons across KS4–KS5. • Inspire students to develop analytical and evaluative skills. • Monitor progress and provide effective feedback to drive achievement. • Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental enrichment activities. • Encourage students to pursue higher education or careers in related fields. • Create an inclusive classroom where every student feels supported. About the School: This large, co-educational 11–18 school in Essex has an Ofsted ‘Good’ rating and is known for its inclusive ethos and strong sixth form provision. The Social Sciences department is thriving, with high uptake at GCSE and A-Level. Students are encouraged to pursue university pathways in Psychology, Sociology, and Health & Social Care, making this a rewarding subject area to teach.
