Job description
A highly successful and well-established mixed comprehensive school in the vibrant Ealing area seeks a dedicated and thoughtful Religious Education Teacher for a full-time, permanent position commencing in September. This is an excellent opportunity to join a thriving Humanities department within a school committed to the spiritual, moral, social, and cultural development of its students. About Our Learning Community: Our school provides a supportive and inclusive learning environment with a strong commitment to academic excellence and the holistic education of all students. The RE department aims to foster understanding and respect for different beliefs and perspectives. About the Role: Deliver engaging and thought-provoking lessons across the secondary curriculum, covering a range of world religions, beliefs, and ethical systems. Develop and implement stimulating lesson plans that encourage critical thinking, discussion, and respectful dialogue. Assess student progress through essays, presentations, and other forms of assessment, providing constructive feedback. Contribute to the development of the RE curriculum and participate in departmental initiatives. Ideal Candidate: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in Religious Education or Theology. A good understanding of the secondary RE curriculum and effective teaching methodologies for a diverse student population. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to facilitate respectful discussions on sensitive topics. A passion for religious education and the ability to foster religious literacy and critical thinking. Benefits: Competitive salary (MPS/UPS + Outer London Weighting) commensurate with experience.
