About the D&T Department: The Design & Technology department is a collaborative and inspiring team with a shared commitment to fostering students' creativity, innovation, and practical skills. We offer a rich and engaging curriculum that covers a wide range of D&T specialisms, including resistant materials, product design, electronics, and textiles. We have well-equipped workshops and studios with access to the latest technologies and resources. About the Role: Teach Design & Technology across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the possibility of teaching at Key Stage 5 depending on experience and interest. Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that cater to a variety of learning styles and abilities. Guide and support students in using a range of tools, equipment, and materials to design and create products. Encourage students to apply their knowledge of design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes to solve real-world problems. Assess student progress, set targets, and provide constructive feedback to support individual learning journeys. Contribute to the department's curriculum development and resource creation, ensuring that our D&T curriculum remains relevant and challenging. Foster a love of Design & Technology in students, encouraging them to explore their creativity, develop their practical skills, and become innovative problem-solvers. Work collaboratively with colleagues in the department and across the school to create a cohesive and supportive learning environment. Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your teaching practice and keep abreast of the latest developments in D&T education. Ideal Candidate: Holds QTS or equivalent (or is eligible to apply). Possesses excellent subject knowledge in Design & Technology. Demonstrates a passion for teaching D&T and a commitment to student success. Has strong communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills. Is confident in building rapport with students and fostering a positive and stimulating learning environment. Has a good understanding of the National Curriculum for D&T and relevant examination specifications. Is committed to ongoing professional development and reflective practice.
