Full-time, Permanent - September 2025 Start Are you a creative and enthusiastic Teacher of Design & Technology with a passion for inspiring students to design, create, and innovate? We are seeking a dedicated and skilled individual to join our thriving D&T department in a secondary school in Richmond. About the School: Our school is a dynamic learning community where students are encouraged to explore their creativity, develop their practical skills, and apply their knowledge to solve real-world problems. We provide a stimulating and supportive environment where students can experiment with different materials and technologies, design and build prototypes, and develop their critical thinking and problem-solving skills. About the D&T Department: The Design & Technology department is a collaborative and inspiring team with a shared commitment to fostering students' creativity, innovation, and practical skills. We offer a rich and engaging curriculum that covers a wide range of D&T specialisms, including product design, electronics, and textiles. We have well-equipped workshops and studios with access to the latest technologies and resources. About the Role: Teach Design & Technology, with a focus on Product Design, across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential for teaching at Key Stage 5. Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that cater to a variety of learning styles and abilities. Guide and support students in using a range of tools, equipment, and materials to design and create products. Encourage students to apply their knowledge of design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes to solve real-world problems. Assess student progress, set targets, and provide constructive feedback to support individual learning journeys. Contribute to the department's curriculum development and resource creation, ensuring that our D&T curriculum remains relevant and challenging. Foster a love of Design & Technology in students, encouraging them to explore their creativity, develop their practical skills, and become innovative problem-solvers. Work collaboratively with colleagues in the department and across the school to create a cohesive and supportive learning environment. Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your teaching practice and keep abreast of the latest developments in D&T education. Ideal Candidate: Holds QTS or equivalent. Possesses excellent subject knowledge in Design & Technology, with a specialism in Product Design. Demonstrates a passion for teaching D&T. Has strong communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills. Is confident in building rapport with students and fostering a positive learning environment.
