Job description

Full-time, Permanent - April 2025 Start Are you a passionate and engaging Teacher of Economics with a desire to inspire young minds and equip them with the skills and knowledge they need to understand the complexities of the economic world? We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual, including ECTs , to join our thriving Economics department in an independent sixth form college in Kensington & Chelsea. About the College: Our college is a vibrant and academically ambitious learning community where students are encouraged to delve deeper into their chosen subjects and develop their critical thinking skills. We have a strong track record of achievement, with our students consistently achieving excellent results in A Level examinations and progressing to top universities. About the Economics Department: The Economics department is a collaborative and supportive team with a shared passion for fostering a love of economics in our students. We offer a stimulating and engaging curriculum that covers a wide range of topics, from microeconomics and macroeconomics to international trade and development economics. About the Role: Teach Economics at A Level, inspiring and challenging students to deepen their understanding of economic concepts and applications. Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that cater to a variety of learning styles and abilities. Support students in preparing for their A Level Economics examinations, ensuring they have the knowledge and skills to succeed. Guide students in conducting independent research and completing challenging coursework, fostering their critical thinking and analytical skills. Contribute to the department's curriculum development and resource creation, ensuring that our Economics curriculum remains relevant, engaging, and rigorous. Work collaboratively with colleagues in the department and across the college to create a cohesive and supportive learning environment. Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your teaching practice and keep abreast of the latest developments in Economics education. Ideal Candidate: Holds QTS or equivalent (or is eligible to apply). Possesses excellent subject knowledge in Economics. Demonstrates a passion for teaching Economics and a commitment to student success. Has strong communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills. Is confident in building rapport with students and fostering a positive and stimulating learning environment. Has a good understanding of the A Level Economics specifications and assessment requirements. Is committed to ongoing professional development and reflective practice.
