Job description
A popular and well-regarded secondary school in Leicestershire is seeking an organised and personable Admissions & Transition Administrator to support the smooth movement of students into and through the school. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with families, managing processes and playing a key role at important points in a young person’s education. The school has a strong reputation for its welcoming ethos, high expectations and well-planned transition arrangements. The Role You will manage admissions and transition processes for new starters, working closely with senior leaders, feeder primary schools and families. The role combines administrative accuracy with a strong people-facing element, particularly during peak transition periods. Key responsibilities include: Managing admissions enquiries and application records Supporting Year 6–7 transition processes and events Liaising with parents, carers and external agencies Maintaining accurate pupil data and documentation Coordinating induction days, welcome evenings and communications Supporting in-year admissions and student transfers The School This is a large secondary school with an inclusive, community-focused ethos. Transition is taken seriously, with clear systems and strong relationships with local primary schools. The admin team works closely together, sharing responsibility and supporting one another during busy periods. Who This Role Suits The school is looking for someone who: Has experience in school administration or admissions Is confident communicating with parents and professionals Is highly organised and accurate with data and records Remains calm and professional during busy periods Enjoys working as part of a supportive team Experience using school MIS systems would be beneficial but is not essential.
