We are seeking an inquisitive and articulate History Teacher to join a high-achieving Humanities faculty in Cornwall . Core Responsibilities Pedagogical Excellence: Planning and delivering high-quality, evidence-based lessons across KS3, KS4, and KS5 , including GCSE History and A-Level History . Source Analysis Mastery: Developing students’ ability to interrogate primary and secondary sources, identifying bias, provenance, and historical significance. Narrative Depth: Guiding students through a diverse and decolonised curriculum—from the complexities of the British Empire and the Cold War to the social history of medicine and local Cornish heritage. Curriculum Innovation: Integrating Cornwall’s unique local context—including its mining legacy and maritime trade—into the broader national and international historical narrative. Exam Mastery: Mentoring examination cohorts through AQA or Edexcel specifications, with a clinical focus on structured essay writing and the command of second-order concepts (cause, consequence, change, and continuity). Historical Enquiry: Leading extracurricular initiatives such as "History Mystery" clubs, debating societies, and coordinating heritage trips to local sites like St Michael’s Mount or the National Maritime Museum.
