Job description
A wonderful, community-focused primary school in Poole is seeking a dedicated and reliable Caretaker to join their friendly team for an ASAP start . This is a brilliant opportunity to become a vital part of a school that is truly the heart of its local community, ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming environment where young children can thrive. The school takes great pride in its appearance and is looking for a caretaker who will treat the site with genuine care and attention. About the Role: Maintain the security of the school site, including the daily opening and closing of premises Carry out general DIY, repairs, and proactive maintenance tasks to keep the school in top shape Monitor and manage heating, lighting, and water systems to ensure the building is comfortable Oversee the cleanliness of the site and coordinate with the cleaning team Ensure the school grounds and play areas are safe, tidy, and free of hazards Support the school during special events, such as assemblies, plays, and seasonal fairs The Ideal Candidate Will: Be a handy and practical individual with a broad range of maintenance or DIY skills Have a proactive approach to identifying and fixing issues before they become problems Be friendly, approachable, and happy to interact positively with staff, parents, and pupils Be reliable and flexible, with a strong understanding of site security and safety Be committed to maintaining a safe environment and supporting the school's safeguarding policies Why This Role?
