This is a hands-on role with real ownership. You’ll take full responsibility for the sales ledger, while also gaining exposure across the wider finance function. The business has invested heavily in systems and automation, so this isn’t just data entry — they need someone who can think, problem-solve, and keep things running smoothly.
The RoleYou’ll be responsible for managing the sales ledger end-to-end, alongside supporting the wider finance team with transactional and month-end duties. There’s flexibility in the role depending on your experience and ambition — whether you’re looking to develop your finance career or prefer to be a reliable, experienced pair of hands.
Key ResponsibilitiesSales Ledger- Raise and post sales invoices and credit notes
- Distribute invoices and customer statements
- Allocate daily cash and reconcile accounts
- Maintain and update sales forecasts
- Monitor customer accounts and manage overdue payments
- Handle high-volume reconciliations and investigate discrepancies
Credit Control & Reporting- Identify and escalate customer credit issues
- Produce monthly credit reporting
- Support internal credit review processes
- Maintain credit insurance processes
Transactional Finance Support- Post supplier and overhead invoices
- Support purchase ledger activities
- Reconcile supplier statements
- Provide cover across purchase ledger and treasury when required
Month-End & Additional Duties- Assist with VAT returns
- Support balance sheet reconciliations
- Contribute to monthly management accounts
- Deliver ad hoc analysis when needed
What We’re Looking ForWe’re looking for someone with a solid grounding in transactional finance, particularly around sales ledger, who can take ownership and work with minimal supervision. You might be:
- Early in your finance career (e.g. studying AAT or keen to progress), looking to build broader experience, or
- An experienced finance professional who enjoys transactional work and wants a stable, long-term role
Either way, you’ll need to be:
- Confident managing or supporting a sales ledger
- Comfortable working with systems and Excel (including handling volume)
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
- A clear communicator, able to deal with internal teams and customers
- Proactive, with a problem-solving mindset
An interest in developing into broader finance tasks (month-end, reporting) is beneficial, but not essential.

Working Pattern- Monday – Thursday: 8:15am – 5:15pm
