Job description
Facilities Assistant – Well-Regarded Secondary School – Preston (Lancashire) Start Date: As soon as possible Contract: Full-time, Permanent Salary: Paid to scale We are seeking a reliable and proactive Facilities Assistant to join a well-regarded secondary school in Preston. This is an important role supporting the maintenance and smooth operation of the school site. The successful candidate will assist with maintaining buildings and grounds, ensuring that facilities are safe, clean and well organised. You will support the Site Manager in delivering a high-quality environment for students and staff. This role requires practical skills, flexibility and a strong work ethic. School Information: This is an 11 to 18 well-established, Good Ofsted Rated School in Preston with a strong commitment to high standards, student wellbeing and continuous improvement. The school serves a diverse community and is known for its supportive ethos. Students are respectful and motivated, contributing to a calm environment. The school offers a broad curriculum and values the contribution of support staff. The facilities team plays a vital role in ensuring the school operates effectively. Key Responsibilities: • Assist with maintenance and repairs • Support site security and safety • Set up rooms and equipment • Maintain cleanliness and organisation • Carry out health and safety checks • Support the Site Manager Requirements: • Practical skills and maintenance experience • Knowledge of health and safety (desirable) • Strong organisational skills • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Good communication skills • Flexible and reliable approach Application To apply, please send your CV as soon as possible
