Job description
Site Manager – Well-Regarded Secondary School – Chelmsford (Essex) Start Date: As soon as possible Contract: Full-time, Permanent Salary: Paid to scale We are seeking an experienced and reliable Site Manager to join a well-regarded secondary school in Chelmsford. This is a key role responsible for ensuring that the school site is safe, secure and well maintained. The successful candidate will oversee the day-to-day management of the school premises, including maintenance, health and safety, security and contractor coordination. You will ensure that the environment supports effective teaching and learning. This role requires strong practical skills, good organisational ability and a proactive approach. School Information: This is an 11 to 18 well-established, Good Ofsted Rated School in Chelmsford with a strong commitment to high standards, student wellbeing and continuous improvement. The school serves a diverse community and is known for its supportive ethos. Students are respectful and motivated, contributing to a calm and purposeful environment. The school offers a broad curriculum and values the contribution of support staff. The site team plays a vital role in maintaining a high-quality learning environment. Key Responsibilities: • Manage maintenance and upkeep of the site • Ensure health and safety compliance • Oversee contractors and site work • Maintain site security • Manage facilities and equipment • Respond to maintenance issues Requirements: • Experience in site or facilities management • Knowledge of health and safety regulations • Strong practical and organisational skills • Ability to work independently • Good communication skills • Experience in a school setting (desirable) Application To apply, please send your CV as soon as possible
