Job description
IT Technician – Outstanding Independent School – York Start Date: As soon as possible Contract: Full-time, Permanent Salary: Paid to scale We are seeking a proactive and technically skilled IT Technician to join an Outstanding independent secondary school in York. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about technology and supporting teaching and learning. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining IT systems, providing technical support and ensuring that digital resources are used effectively across the school. You will support both staff and students and contribute to the development of the school’s IT provision. This role requires strong technical knowledge, problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate effectively. School Information: This is an 11 to 18 well-established, Outstanding Ofsted Rated Independent School in York with a strong commitment to high standards, student wellbeing and continuous improvement. The school serves a diverse and ambitious community and is known for its supportive ethos. Students are engaged and motivated, creating a positive learning environment. The school offers a broad curriculum and places strong emphasis on innovation and technology. Staff benefit from a collaborative culture and strong leadership. The IT team plays a vital role in ensuring that teaching and learning are supported by high-quality systems. Key Responsibilities: • Provide technical support to staff and students • Maintain IT systems and infrastructure • Support classroom technology • Manage user accounts and permissions • Assist with IT projects and upgrades • Ensure system security Requirements: • Relevant IT qualification or experience • Strong technical knowledge • Excellent problem-solving skills • Good communication skills • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Experience in a school setting (desirable) Application To apply, please send your CV as soon as possible
