Job description
An independent primary school in Bath is seeking an organised, friendly, and professional School Receptionist to join its welcoming team immediately. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys being the first point of contact for parents, staff, and visitors, while supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the school’s administrative operations. As the face of the school, the successful candidate will play a vital role in creating a positive and welcoming environment. You will manage incoming calls, greet visitors, and support parents with enquiries, ensuring that every interaction reflects the school’s ethos of warmth, professionalism, and attention to detail. The role also involves general administrative duties, including managing mail, coordinating appointments, maintaining records, and assisting with school communications. The school values efficiency, reliability, and a proactive attitude. You will be expected to support the office team with daily administrative tasks, from filing and data entry to preparing documents for staff and leadership. Additionally, you will support the safeguarding procedures by monitoring visitors and ensuring that the front office is secure at all times. The role requires someone who is approachable, organised, and capable of juggling multiple tasks in a busy school environment. While the position is primarily front-of-house and administrative, the School Receptionist will also contribute to the broader school community. This may include assisting with school events, supporting meetings, or helping staff and students with day-to-day requests.
