Job description
Location: Hertford Contract: Full-Time, Permanent/Long-term Start Date: ASAP Are you a master of the laws of the universe with the ability to make complex mechanics and quantum theories click for young minds? We are seeking a high-caliber Physics Teacher to join a high-achieving and well-resourced Science department in Hertford . This school prides itself on academic rigor and a culture of curiosity, making it the perfect environment for a specialist who wants to push the boundaries of traditional Science teaching and inspire the next generation of physicists and engineers. The Role As a Physics Teacher, you will be the lead specialist for your subject within the Science faculty. You will deliver high-impact, practical-based lessons across KS3 and KS4 , with a significant opportunity to lead A-Level Physics for a candidate with strong theoretical knowledge and a passion for post-16 success. Key Responsibilities: Conceptual Mastery: Teaching core topics including Newtonian mechanics, electricity, waves, radioactivity, and astrophysics. Practical Innovation: Designing and supervising sophisticated experiments that bridge the gap between abstract mathematical formulas and physical reality. Mathematical Support: Helping students develop the advanced numeracy skills required to excel in the Physics specification. STEM Leadership: Driving the school’s extracurricular STEM program, including engineering challenges, astronomy clubs, and university prep. Why Join This School? The Ideal Candidate: Holds QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) and a relevant degree in Physics or a closely related Engineering field. Has a proven track record of securing excellent outcomes at GCSE and/or A-Level. Possesses strong classroom management skills and a commitment to meticulous Health & Safety standards.
