Job description
Location: Manchester Contract: Full-Time, Permanent/Long-term Start Date: ASAP Are you a linguist with a passion for la francophonie and the energy to inspire a love for languages in a global city? We are seeking an enthusiastic French Teacher to join a dynamic and supportive MFL department in Manchester . Known for its rich cultural diversity and international outlook, this school provides the perfect environment for a teacher who wants to bring the French language and culture to life—from the streets of Paris to the hubs of Francophone Africa and Quebec. The Role As a French Teacher, you will be a key part of a collaborative department that values communication over rote learning. You will deliver high-quality lessons across KS3 and KS4 , with the opportunity to teach A-Level French for a candidate with strong subject expertise and a passion for literature and film. Key Responsibilities: Interactive Instruction: Planning and delivering lessons that develop fluency in Speaking, Listening, Reading, and Writing. Cultural Immersion: Incorporating authentic resources—such as French cinema, music, and news—to provide students with a holistic understanding of the French-speaking world. Exam Success: Guiding GCSE cohorts through AQA or Edexcel specifications, focusing on building high-level spontaneous speaking skills and translation accuracy. Inclusive Learning: Implementing creative strategies to engage all learners, including those with EAL and SEND, ensuring that language learning is accessible to everyone. Why Join This School?
