Job description
Facilities Assistant – Good Secondary School – Bexley (South East London) Start Date: As soon as possible Contract: Full-time, Permanent Salary: Paid to scale We are looking to appoint a reliable and proactive Facilities Assistant to join a Good secondary school in Bexley. This is an important role supporting the day-to-day maintenance and operation of the school site. The successful candidate will assist with ensuring that the school environment is safe, secure and well maintained. You will support the Site Manager with a range of duties including maintenance tasks, room setups and health and safety checks. This role requires practical skills, a flexible approach and the ability to respond effectively to the needs of a busy school environment. School Information: This is an 11 to 18 well-established, Good Ofsted Rated School in Bexley with a strong commitment to high standards, student wellbeing and continuous improvement. The school serves a diverse community and is known for its supportive ethos, where positive relationships and high expectations underpin daily practice. Students are respectful and motivated, contributing to a calm and purposeful environment. The school offers a broad and balanced curriculum and values the contribution of support staff. The facilities team plays a key role in ensuring the school environment supports effective teaching and learning. Key Responsibilities: • Assist with general maintenance and repairs • Support site security and safety procedures • Set up rooms and equipment for lessons and events • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the site • Carry out basic health and safety checks • Support the Site Manager with daily tasks Requirements: • Practical skills and maintenance experience • Knowledge of health and safety (desirable) • Strong organisational skills • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Good communication skills • Flexible and reliable approach Application To apply, please send your CV as soon as possible
