Job description
Art Technician – Creative Secondary School – Liverpool Start Date: As soon as possible Contract: Full-time, Permanent Salary: Paid to scale We are seeking a creative and organised Art Technician to join a vibrant secondary school in Liverpool. This is an exciting opportunity to support a thriving art department and contribute to a dynamic and inspiring learning environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing materials, maintaining equipment and supporting students during practical art lessons. You will ensure that the department is well organised and that resources are available to support high-quality teaching and learning. This role is ideal for someone with a passion for art and strong practical skills, who enjoys working in a creative and collaborative environment. School Information: This is an 11 to 18 well-established, Independent Secondary School in Liverpool with a strong commitment to high standards, student wellbeing and continuous improvement. The school serves a diverse community and is known for its supportive ethos, where positive relationships and high expectations underpin daily practice. Art Department: The art department is a vibrant, inspiring space where creativity flourishes, students are challenged to excel, and teaching nurtures exceptional artistic skill and imagination. It is supported by strong facilities, including well-equipped studios, high-quality materials, and creative spaces that enable students to experiment and produce exceptional work. Key Responsibilities: • Prepare materials and equipment for lessons • Support practical art activities • Maintain studios and ensure safety • Manage stock and order supplies • Assist with displays and exhibitions • Support teaching staff Requirements • Background or qualification in Art or related field • Strong practical knowledge of materials • Excellent organisational skills • Ability to work collaboratively • Experience in a school setting (desirable) • Commitment to supporting creativity Application To apply, please send your CV as soon as possible
