Job description
Join a high-performing secondary school in Manchester as an Attendance Officer and play a vital role in supporting student engagement and success. This role is ideal for someone organised, proactive, and passionate about helping young people achieve their full potential. You will work closely with staff, students, and parents to ensure attendance is monitored, challenges are addressed, and interventions are implemented effectively. Your Role in Action: You will manage attendance data, monitor student absences, and identify patterns that may require intervention. Your work will help staff and leadership respond quickly to issues, supporting both academic achievement and student wellbeing. Daily tasks include: Recording and analysing attendance data to identify trends Liaising with parents and guardians regarding absences Collaborating with teachers and pastoral teams to support students at risk of persistent absence Assisting with school attendance reports and compliance documentation Supporting school-wide initiatives to improve engagement Who We’re Looking For: Someone confident using school management systems and Microsoft Office Organised, detail-oriented, and able to prioritise multiple tasks Professional and approachable, with strong communication skills Committed to supporting student welfare and achievement Why This Role Matters: As Attendance Officer, you will have a direct impact on students’ learning and progress.
