School Business Manager (SBM) – Leading Secondary School – Exeter (Devon) Start Date: As soon as possible Contract: Full-time, Permanent Salary: Paid to scale We are seeking an experienced and strategic School Business Manager to join a leading secondary school in Exeter. This is a senior leadership role offering an excellent opportunity to contribute to the operational and financial success of a high-performing school. The successful candidate will oversee finance, HR, administration and site management, ensuring that all business functions operate effectively. You will work closely with the senior leadership team to support strategic planning and ensure that resources are used efficiently. This role requires strong leadership, financial expertise and the ability to manage multiple priorities. School Information: This is an 11 to 18 well-established, Independent Secondary School in Exeter with a strong commitment to high standards, student wellbeing and continuous improvement. The school serves a diverse and ambitious community and is known for its supportive ethos. Students are engaged and motivated, creating a positive learning environment. The school offers a broad curriculum and a collaborative working environment. Staff benefit from strong leadership and ongoing professional development. The SBM is a key member of the leadership team and plays a central role in the success of the school. Key Responsibilities: • Lead financial management and budgeting • Oversee HR and recruitment processes • Manage school operations and facilities • Ensure compliance with regulations • Support strategic planning • Line manage support staff Requirements: • Relevant qualification in business or finance • Experience in a senior leadership role • Strong organisational and financial skills • Excellent communication and leadership abilities • Ability to work strategically and operationally • Experience in a school setting (desirable) Application To apply, please send your CV as soon as possible
