Job description

Your next teaching role could be closer than you think.

We're working with a range of welcoming primary schools across Waltham Forest looking for enthusiastic and committed Year 4 Teachers who can inspire curiosity, build confidence, and help pupils take the next step in their Key Stage 2 journey.

Year 4 is a year where children become more independent learners, deepen their understanding across the curriculum, and grow in confidence both inside and outside the classroom. If you enjoy bringing learning to life and encouraging children to challenge themselves, we'd love to hear from you.

Every Year 4 class is different, every school has its own personality, but they all share the same goal, helping pupils develop the knowledge, resilience, and self-belief they'll carry through the rest of primary school.

If you're someone who can create engaging lessons, build positive relationships, and support every child to achieve their potential, this could be your perfect next move.

What you'll be doing:
- Planning and delivering engaging, well-structured lessons in line with the National Curriculum
- Supporting pupils as they continue to develop academically, socially, and emotionally
- Creating a positive, inclusive classroom where every child feels valued, supported, and motivated
- Preparing pupils for key milestones, including the Multiplication Tables Check, in a fun and engaging way
- Adapting teaching to meet the needs of all learners, including pupils with SEND and EAL
- Monitoring progress through ongoing assessment and using this to inform future learning
- Working closely with Teaching Assistants, colleagues, and parents to support every child's development
- Managing behaviour with consistency, encouragement, and clear expectations
- Contributing to the wider school community and upholding safeguarding at all times

What we're looking for:

The right fit for this role will be someone who:
- Holds UK QTS
- Has recent experience teaching in a UK primary school, ideally within Key Stage 2
- Has a strong understanding of the Year 4 curriculum and key learning milestones
- Creates engaging lessons that challenge, motivate, and inspire every learner
- Builds positive relationships with pupils, families, and colleagues
- Brings enthusiasm, organisation, and a supportive approach to the classroom

Why work with Protocol Education?

We keep it simple. Honest conversations, clear communication, and schools that genuinely match what you're looking for.

You'll benefit from:
- Weekly pay through PAYE, no umbrella companies
- FREE access to our CPD Academy
- Personalised support from a dedicated consultant
- Opportunities across mainstream, SEND, and alternative settings
- A smooth, straightforward registration process
- A referral scheme that genuinely rewards you

Find a role that genuinely fits you.

Send your CV to thomas.harrington@protocol-education.com and let's find the right Year 4 classroom for you.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see the FAQs on the Protocol Education website for further details.
