Job description
We are seeking a friendly, organised, and professional School Receptionist to join a good-rated primary school in Brighton. This role is key to providing a welcoming first point of contact for parents, visitors, and staff while supporting the school’s administrative operations. The successful candidate will be approachable, efficient, and able to manage a range of responsibilities in a busy school environment. Role Overview: As School Receptionist, you will manage the school’s front office, ensuring that it is welcoming, organised, and efficiently run. You will liaise with parents, staff, and external contacts, handling enquiries professionally and in line with school policies. Your role will be central to maintaining smooth daily operations and a positive school atmosphere. Key Responsibilities: Greet and assist visitors, parents, and staff in a professional and friendly manner. Answer telephone calls, respond to emails, and manage general enquiries promptly. Maintain an organised, safe, and welcoming reception area. Monitor student attendance and assist with signing in/out procedures. Support administrative tasks such as filing, photocopying, scanning, and data entry. Assist with the organisation of school events, meetings, and communications. Ensure compliance with safeguarding, health and safety, and data protection policies. Liaise with external agencies, suppliers, and other stakeholders as required. Skills and Experience: Previous experience in reception, administration, or customer service, ideally within a school setting. Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a professional and approachable manner. Attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general office systems. Knowledge of confidentiality and data protection requirements.
