Job description
A well-regarded secondary school in Bradford is seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Teacher of Design Technology (Product Design) to join its Design & Technology faculty. This is an excellent opportunity for a DT specialist who enjoys practical teaching, creative problem-solving and helping pupils develop the confidence and technical competence to design, make and evaluate. The school has clear routines, consistent behaviour systems and a calm learning culture that supports strong teaching and learning. About the Role As Teacher of Design Technology (Product Design) , you will teach across Key Stages 3 and 4 , with the potential to contribute to KS5 depending on experience and curriculum offer. You will deliver a well-sequenced curriculum that develops: Secure understanding of the design process: research, ideation, prototyping, testing and evaluation Strong practical skills and safe workshop routines Confidence with materials, tools and processes used in Product Design Iterative designing, problem-solving and creativity within structured briefs GCSE success through clear modelling, structured practice and high-quality feedback Pupils learn to think like designers—evaluating real products, responding to user needs and developing their own ideas into high-quality outcomes. The Department Design & Technology is a valued subject within the school, and the faculty is supportive and collaborative. Teachers work together to share resources, moderate work and refine approaches to assessment and coursework.
