Job description
Finance Assistant – Reputable Secondary School – Bath (Somerset) Start Date: As soon as possible Contract: Full-time, Permanent Salary: Paid to scale We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to join a reputable secondary school in Bath. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong numerical and administrative skills to contribute to the effective financial management of a well-run school. The successful candidate will support the day-to-day financial operations, ensuring that processes are accurate, efficient and compliant with school procedures. You will work closely with the School Business Manager and finance team, assisting with a range of tasks including invoicing, budgeting support and financial record keeping. This role requires someone who is methodical, reliable and able to handle confidential information with professionalism. You will need to be confident working with data and financial systems, as well as communicating effectively with staff and external stakeholders. School Information: This is an 11 to 18 well-established, Good Ofsted Rated School in Bath with a strong commitment to high standards, student wellbeing and continuous improvement. The finance team plays a vital role in supporting the school’s operations, ensuring resources are managed effectively to benefit students and staff. Key Responsibilities: • Process invoices, payments and financial transactions • Maintain accurate financial records • Support budgeting and financial reporting • Liaise with suppliers and staff regarding finance queries • Assist with procurement processes • Ensure compliance with financial procedures Requirements: • Experience in a finance or administrative role • Strong numerical and analytical skills • Excellent attention to detail • Good IT skills, including Excel • Ability to manage workload effectively • Experience in a school setting (desirable) Application To apply, please send your CV as soon as possible
